Yamaguchi City (山口) is a city located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It is the capital city of the prefecture and has a population of approximately 197,000 people.

Yamaguchi City is situated in the western part of Honshu, the largest island of Japan. It is bordered by the Seto Inland Sea to the south and the Chugoku Mountains to the north. The city has a long and rich history, having served as the capital of the Choshu Domain during the Edo period and as a center of political and cultural activity in the Meiji era.

Popular tourist attractions in Yamaguchi City include Ruriko-ji Temple, with its five-story pagoda, a national treasure, and Kozan Park, a beautiful park with a variety of natural and cultural attractions.
