Shorenin Temple

Shorenin Temple (天台宗青蓮院門跡) is a Buddhist temple located in Kyoto, Japan. It was founded in 1150 and is known for its beautiful gardens, traditional architecture, and peaceful atmosphere.

The temple has several buildings, including the main hall, an auditorium, and the monks’ residence. A national treasure, a Buddhist painting commonly known as Ao Fudo, is enshrined in the inner hall of Seiryu-den (Blue Dragon Hall).

One of the main attractions of Shorenin Temple is its beautiful gardens, which are designed in the traditional Japanese style and feature ponds, waterfalls, and seasonal flowers and plants. The gardens are particularly beautiful during the autumn foliage season and the spring cherry blossom season.
