Miyazaki Shrine

Miyazaki Shrine (宮崎神宮), also known as Miyazaki Jingu, is a Shinto shrine located in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. The shrine was established in 1907 to honor Emperor Jinmu, who is considered to be the first emperor of Japan according to Japanese mythology.

The shrine is known for its beautiful architecture, which features a unique style called “Shinmei-zukuri,” a variation of the traditional Japanese style with some Western architectural elements. The main shrine building, or honden, is made of cypress wood and has a thatched roof. The shrine also has several other buildings, including a prayer hall and a museum.

Miyazaki Shrine is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, and it is especially popular during the New Year’s holiday when many people come to offer prayers for the coming year. The shrine also hosts several festivals and events throughout the year, including the Miyazaki Shrine Grand Festival in October and the New Year’s Festival in January.

The shrine is located near several other popular attractions in Miyazaki City, including Heiwadai Park and Miyazaki Prefectural Art Museum.
