Norikura

Norikura (乗鞍) is a mountain range located in the Northern Japan Alps, in the Nagano Prefecture of Japan. The highest peak in the range is Mount Norikura, which has an elevation of 3,026 meters (9,928 feet) and is the 12th highest mountain in Japan.

Norikura is a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering a range of hiking trails that vary in difficulty and length. The area is particularly beautiful in the summer months, when the mountains are covered in alpine flowers and the weather is mild.

One of the most popular hiking trails in Norikura is the Norikura Skyline, a scenic drive that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The Skyline is also accessible by bus and is a popular destination for tourists who want to take in the stunning scenery without hiking.

In the winter months, Norikura is also a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding, with several ski resorts located in the area. The ski season typically runs from December through April, with the best conditions in January and February.
