Initial Report

A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7 has struck the Sea of Japan coast of Japan. The earthquake has been accompanied by a tsunami with a height of up to 5 meters. This tsunami is a serious threat to life and property.

If you are in the affected area, please evacuate to a safe location immediately. The best place to evacuate is to the top of a building or to higher ground. If you are unable to evacuate to higher ground, you should find a safe place to shelter in place, such as a basement or a sturdy interior room.
