Hakodate (函館) is a city located in the southern part of Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s main islands. It is one of the country’s oldest cities and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. Hakodate is famous for its beautiful bay area, which is home to a large number of seafood restaurants.

The city is also famous for its hot springs, or onsen, which are a popular tourist destination for both Japanese and foreign visitors.
