Miyako Island

Miyako Island (宮古島) is a small island located in the Ryukyu Islands of Japan, about 300 kilometers southwest of Okinawa Island. The island is known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and unique culture.

  • Direct Flights: Miyako Airport offers direct flights from several major Japanese cities including Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (about 3–3.5 hours), Osaka’s Kansai Airport, Nagoya’s Centrair International Airport, and Fukuoka.
  • Via Naha (Okinawa Main Island): The most common route is to fly to Naha Airport on Okinawa’s main island and then take a connecting flight to Miyako Airport (about 45–55 minutes).
  • Other Destinations: There are also direct flights from Ishigaki and Tarama, as well as some international flights to Shimojishima Airport from certain Asian cities.
