Tsukishima (月島) is a neighborhood located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan. It is located on an artificial island in Tokyo Bay, and is known for its picturesque streets, traditional architecture, and delicious street food.

One of the most famous attractions in Tsukishima is the Tsukishima Monja Street, a narrow alleyway lined with small restaurants that specialize in monjayaki, a type of savory pancake that is a local specialty. Visitors can watch as the chefs prepare the monjayaki on hot plates right in front of them, and then sample the delicious dish with a cold beer or other refreshing drink.

In addition to monjayaki, Tsukishima is also known for its historic architecture, with many of the buildings in the area dating back to the early 20th century. The area is particularly well-known for its “shitamachi” atmosphere, which refers to the traditional working-class neighborhoods that were common in Tokyo during the Edo period.

Other notable attractions in Tsukishima include the Tsukishima Shrine, which is dedicated to the god of fishing and is believed to bring good luck to fishermen and seafood lovers, and the Sumida River Terrace, a scenic riverside promenade that offers stunning views of the Tokyo skyline.
